Fun Tip #42: Standing Desks!
Sitting for long spells shaves years off your life — that’s just fact. Among other issues, people will sedentary jobs have twice the rate of cardiovascular diseases as people with standing jobs. Then there’s diabetes, heart diseases, skeletal disorders, obesity… we could go on, really, but the bottom-line is, sitting for long spells will eventually kill you.
Standing desks, thus, are a great way to break the monotony, while also encouraging employees to be more active by stretching their bodies a little. Not only will it help improve their mood and energy levels, but will ensure they stay fitter too.
